Nice easy ride with the reward of beautiful waterfalls and maybe an ice cream at the house of Bruar (or a coffee if it’s cold). Then a different way back to Pitlochry past fields and rivers.

River Garry Footbridge

The River Garry flows from Loch Garry to the River Tummel near Pitlochry. This footbridge crosses the Garry but is weight restricted to ten people at a time.

It's said that, during the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689, government soldier Donald McBane successfully jumped across the river at this spot to escape pursuing Jacobites. This would have been an impressive feat, as the gorge is 18.5 feet (5.5 m) at this point. It's a great spot to visit on a hike, both for the rushing River Garry and to imagine McBane's great jump.
