Riss Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

The small crack falls are the only waterfalls in the Vogtland. The ditch for the creek was once dug into the rock by hand, as wood was once floated here. Over time, the Weiße Göltzsch stream has worked its way deeper and deeper into the rocky ground. After heavy rains, the crack falls are particularly beautiful.

Druckersmühle Historical Site

Highlight • Historical Site

Just a few minutes from Grünbach train station is the “ Druckersmühle ” in the valley.

Caspar Trützschler had this mill built between 1591 and 1595 as a plank and cutting mill on the Göltzsch. A certain Thoß is named as the first miller in a purchase contract from 1595.

Converted into a grinding mill in 1786, it was acquired at this time by a miller and printer from Grünbach, who had the fabrics manufactured in Falkenstein printed. The people of Grünbach called the owner "Drucker" and that's how the name "Druckersmühle" came about.

In 1889 the mill was converted into a factory by the merchant Ernst Siegel. From then on, the mill was also called the "seal mill". Due to a larger production volume, a boiler and machine house was needed and so a huge factory chimney was built.

In 1907 the old mill was demolished and until 1945 this property had an eventful history behind it! For example, from 1939 it became an armaments factory. In 1959, construction began on the holiday home, the FDGB holiday home "Louis Müller", which existed until 1990.

Today I made such a mistake in my clothes, that's not possible. The actual 12°C felt like 8°C in the wind.
I would have liked to take the Falkenstein dam with me, I like it very much. But brrrr ❄️, another time.
