Mutschen Summit

Highlight • Summit

If you are already at the Mutschensattel, the climb to the Mutschen summit can be reached in just 10 minutes. The climb is worth it... the view of the Reinthal and a direct view of the beautiful Kreuzberge, Churfirsten, Altmann etc...
The zigzag path from the Mutschensattel to the Mutschen itself is a little narrow, but can be reached very quickly.

View from Chreialpfirst to Altmann

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Altmann is just one of many mountain massifs that can be admired from the Chreialpfirst. This mountain scenery is really super fascinating.

The way from Wildhaus on the Zwinglipass to Chreialpirst is technically a simple way, in which one encounters no exposed areas. The Zwinglipass is a well-developed path and leads in serpentine high to Chreialpfirst. The Chreialpfirst itself is a very wide Alprücken with fantastic views of the surrounding mountain massifs.

Zwingli Pass Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Beautifully situated below the Altmann summit, the Zwinglipass hut offers a convenient opportunity to refresh yourself after a long hike. You will be eagerly served on the terrace and the hut, which was only inaugurated in 2018, shines in new splendor.

October 2, 2025,Wildhaus - Mutschen (2122 m) Zwinglipasshütte
A beautiful hike from Wildhaus via Alpe Grueb up to the Mutschensattel. From here, a detour to the Mutschen with a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley 😍 Continue over the Chreialpfirst to the Zwinglipasshütte with views of the Altmann and Säntis. From the Zwinglipasshütte, it's about a two-hour descent back to Wildhaus 🍻

Beautiful Alpstein tour with our friends from Waibstadt/ Baden-Württemberg in (almost) the best conditions... not quite clear in the distance, but otherwise a perfect day at altitude...
... 30° below or even just above, pleasant 20° above at 2000m

August 25, 2025,🇨🇭 Mutschen
A beautiful, somewhat longer hike with our Swiss neighbors🇨🇭 in the Alpstein Mountains with Stephanie and Doris.
The Zwinglipass Hut and the Mutschen had been on our hiking list for a while, and today was the perfect day for it👍.
The hike started at 8:00 a.m. from the paid parking lot (day ticket 5 Swiss francs) towards Gamplüt, where we …

Set off in Wildhaus when the weather was nice.
In Hinder Baholz, past the young calves, then up the steep Flüretobel.
On the driveway we can watch the first chamois as they change sides of the valley.
At the Teselalp, the cattle and other critters are being driven up with tractors and trailers.
We continue past the pit.
And again …

Also today a longer journey to an area where I have never hiked before. The basis was a tour by Martina (October 18, 21), thank you very much Martina for the template.

First it was about 900 m rather steeply up to the Zwinglipass, with a great view of the striking "Toblerone-Spitz". The Zwinglipasshütte was open, therefore approved a ☕. …

A dream day in the Alpstein ❤️❤️❤️

I was so happy that Oli came to visit me in Eastern Switzerland today, I really like this guy 😊😘 and the Alpstein showed us its best side 🙏. The route was wonderfully quiet, almost deserted and the fantastic weather and the still wintry landscape was simply a feast for the eyes 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. …

This tour leads over easy paths and I would say that it does not require a head for heights or at most the transition from the Chreialpfirst over to the Mutschensattel and the short ascent and descent to the Mutschen itself (which was also quite icy today, otherwise the conditions were mostly today very good, but unfortunately that will soon …
