Eifgenbach

After large amounts of rain, the Eifgenbach can also become uncomfortable. Experienced it yesterday and therefore had to take a detour up again to Thomas-Hof to avoid the Eifgenbach.

At the beginning the route was a bit confusing and the path wasn't in good condition, but it got better afterwards, until just before Thomashof, where it's nice to go through the stinging nettles again...

Wonderful tour on the picturesque Eifgenbach with some steep descents and ascents. The course of the tour often follows unmarked paths. I would recommend sure-footedness. There is a nice place to stop at Thomashof (at the beginning/end of the route), with a well-stocked farm shop.

From the Thomashof east of Burscheid, into the beautiful Eifgental.

The relatively short distance is compensated by descents and climbs, especially at the beginning (down) and at the end (up). Sturdy shoes are recommended. It could be a bit slippery when wet. Nice route with a lot of nature.

The weather was great. Tarja's friend Anton was visiting and we wanted to do something.

So off to the car and to Burscheid to the hiking car park and off to the beautiful Eifgenbachtal. Anyone who has ever been there knows exactly that you can't help but be amazed.

It was a very adventurous hike. Very rough terrain, many root paths. Extremely muddy and slippery. We had to go further than planned because our transition no longer existed. The Eifgenbach is currently carrying a lot of water, which also flows with a lot of force, so we decided to go further to reach the next bridge.
As a reward, …

Cheerful hike with sometimes very steep up ⬆️-, down ⬇️- and intermediate steps 🔃⛰️.
Very scenic, very green 🌲 and often along the stream and river.

As a reward there was delicious food 🍖🍻 in the always good Thomashof
