It can be argued whether this is a mountaineering highlight ... a highlight at all. The summit and its splendid view are definitely worth the climb. The path itself is more of a secured promenade with viewing platforms. The path is concreted and secured by railings. It goes through a tunnel and some information boards provide explanations of what has been seen. A couple of benches invite you to rest. No, the path is not for summiteers, there are too many people on the way for that. But for the fact that 2 lifts arrive up here, this less demanding ascent of one of the most beautiful peaks in umadum is just right.

Today we headed up the Wendelstein from the free car park at Sudelfeld. Apart from a steep patch of snow, the paths were mostly dry and easy to walk on.
