March 30, 2025,Schloss Hornberg – Karlstein Runde von Hornberg
Hello everyone,

The time change is bothering us again and messing up our rhythm. Mandy was able to approve the tour for today, and then we set off again. A small, manageable circular tour with a few meters of elevation gain 🤭.

Actually mega beautiful. The area around Hornberg is really worth it...
But tough, alpine climb. Felt 4 hours, but actually 2 - 2.5 hours.
Met great people at the Karlsstein, all of whom walk the Westweg from Hausern to Basel. Super nice conversations... That and the mega views made up for the ascent...
But in the end there was no …

Start is today in Hornberg on the free parking lot under the viaduct. Passing the church and the town hall, a narrow path climbs steeply and after a detour through the Hundsgraben - a wooden bridge and a passage through high rocks - you reach Hornberg Castle. The Powder Tower and Keep are open during the day, the views are …

I like that from time to time, especially when you're in a group and want to walk …

The climb to Ziegelstein via Uhustein was very beautiful and promising. After that, it became a bit boring due to the many gravel paths. Karlstein was …

The first ascent was on a piece of western path to Karlstein, where I had the first good view with a view of Rohrhardsberg. Then the descent …
