In the morning we left the Ursprungalm in the direction of Giglachseehütte in the dark and waited for the sun there.

It is always one of the most beautiful feelings to see the first rays of sunshine on the mountain peaks.

A lovely family hike to the Giglachsee Lakes. The €22 toll to the Ursprungalm is definitely worth it. Beautiful, clear lakes in a stunning setting, with the free-roaming Icelandic horses from the Seiterhof farm in Rohrmoos. The climb is easy. However, be aware that there is no shade at all, so the sun is quite strong.
