It is nice and relaxing to cycle through the pond country. I find it a bit strange to see the cooling towers of Jänschwalde behind all this natural idyll on the horizon with a gigantic cloud on top of that.

An all-round successful tour, with very nice impressions. Mostly well-developed cycle paths. Cottbus Baltic Sea is worth seeing. The weather was good too. There were a few supplies on offer along the way.

The Cottbus Baltic Sea.

Back then, it was 2018. We were on a private tour of the entire area with a former open-cast lignite mine miner. It was overwhelming to see it all and to process his stories about everything that had happened.

Now, seven years later, we're cycling around the lake 🚴🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️.

After a lot has been written about the Baltic Sea recently, we decided to take a look at it ourselves and cycle around the lake. It works, albeit with a few problems.
A new harbor is being built and the existing cycle path is simply cut off🤔
So we went straight through the forest and found the old path again. …

Today we circumnavigated the future Baltic Sea. The tour and the temperatures are more reminiscent of a desert rally. The design of the post-mining landscape is an ambitious project.

Today, after Easter brunch, we went on a Baltic Sea tour in Lusatia, another cycling tour with the theme of water. I have been following the Cottbus Baltic Sea company for a few years now and was excited to see how much the lake landscape has changed since my last visit. I have to say that all the rain has …

Did nothing for 2 days and the bumblebees are already buzzing in their asses 😉😁. After the 🚗 drive and the arrival in my old homeland, I immediately went around the emerging "Baltic Sea" on my bike to check the water level 😉. The Baltic Sea will one day be the largest artificial body of water in Germany and a …

Like every year, the little ghosts chased us away on Halloween 🎃. 😉
This year, we cycled around the Cottbus Lake. Our starting and finishing point was the Maustmühle Restaurant.

The paths are very easy to cycle on. However, some sections may be used by large vehicles. It's best to avoid these on weekdays.

A brief digression on the cut-off wall:
The impetus for the development of cut-off wall technology was the need to limit the groundwater drawdown to keep the open-pit mine dry, thus limiting the amount of groundwater that needed to be pumped out, and protecting the groundwater balance in the surrounding areas.
