St. George’s Branch Church Taglaching

Highlight • Religious Site

Small Romanesque hall building made of tuff blocks, with blind arcades and recessed square chancel. With an estimated construction date of around 1230 (!), it is one of the oldest churches in the Ebersberg area. The baroque roof turret with onion dome dates from the 18th century.
There is a lot of information about the history of the small church at gemeinde-bruck.de/kirchen.html

Lourdes Chapel Pullenhofen

Highlight • Religious Site

The Pullenhofen Lourdes Chapel was inaugurated on August 16, 1903 by a Capuchin priest from Munich.
The building material consists of tuff and comes from the Pullenhofen tuff quarries in Moosach Grund, which were certainly still large at the time. The Mariengrotte, which is designed with many cone-shaped stalactites, is particularly beautiful.
The sensational apparition of Mary in a grotto near Lourdes led to numerous buildings of Lourdes grottos throughout Europe at the turn of the century.
This background explains the construction of the Pullenhofen Lourdes Chapel, which was built in the neo-Gothic style. The Munich butcher couple Michael and Maria Heigenhuber (he came from Pullenhofen) had this chapel built by Maria Heigenhuber on the occasion of a serious illness.
Although Mary went blind, she was healed of her deadly disease.
The Lourdes Chapel has been part of the Niedermoar farm in Pullenhofen for a century and has been looked after by the Heigenhuber family for more than three generations.

Alxing War Memorial

Highlight • Monument

After the end of the First World War, memorials were erected in many communities by the warriors' and veterans' associations, mostly made of stone. The intention was to keep alive the memory of the soldiers who died or went missing in the war and, since they are not all buried on site, to pay their last respects.

The Alxinger war memorial was built in 1922 from marble. The soldier crouching on the ground is a symbol for dying in the two world wars. It is therefore not only a monument, but also a memorial. In 1995 it was completely renovated. The steps were renewed, the stones cleaned and the plastic coating, which had become unsightly, was removed from the soldier figure. Every year in November there is a memorial service in the church on the anniversary of the veteran - alternating with Bruck - followed by a memorial service at one of the two memorials. The Veterans Association then holds its annual general meeting.
