Stockwood Vale Rocky Ford

Highlight • Climb

fun ford with a bridge option, but it leads straight in to a monster rocky climb

This is really quite a long sector of rocky gravel. If you're heading uphill it can be a real test of skill to ride it clean as the rocks in some sections are quite large and loose.

It does smooth out a lot as the gradient levels off and you ride past the golf course. Coming down on a gravel bike is also great fun and a real test of the puncture resistance of your tyres and your skills, and a tubeless set up is defo recommended! In the wet it does turn into a bit of river, for added fun factor.

A cracking section of double track, with a mix of fine gravel, broken old tarmac and some cobble style set stones.

Good in both directions. The cobbles get a bit testing in the wet, and some bigger puddles form in the winter, but all adds to the fun.
