The Sengio Alto tour is a simple excursion, in the Piccole Dolimiti, always beautiful in all seasons. You can travel clockwise or anticlockwise. The departure is from Pian delle Fugazze, (there are several car parks). Along the way you come across the famous AVIS Tibetan bridge, an alternative to the old route destroyed by a landslide.
Beautiful and easy excursion on the Alpe di Campogrosso. Outward journey over the exciting Tibetan bridge 🌉, refreshing break at the always pleasant Campogrosso refuge 🍝 and return along the path of the malghette 🏘️, less known than the classic road that from Pian delle Fugazze leads to the Campogrosso refuge, but of great beauty, surrounded by multicolored meadows and multifaceted peaks. About three hours of walking to reinvigorate body and soul, with a final hug to the big tree 🌳 which runs along the return path.
Beautiful trekking 🚶♀️ suitable for everyone passing through the always exciting Tibetan bridge 🌉 and returning to the mountain huts 🏚️ of the Campogrosso alp, with a refreshing stop at the Campogrosso refuge 🏠. Beautiful in all seasons but today, with the colors of autumn 🍂 even more exciting.
The Sengio Alto is a mountain range located between the Carega group and Pasubio; it is a relatively short range but with decidedly sharp, almost Dolomite-like peaks, the highest of which, Mount Cornetto, stands out at 1,899 meters. The route we followed runs around its base in a circular fashion. It includes easy trails, forest roads, and asphalt roads, the latter of which are closed to traffic. Departure (and arrival) from Pian delle Fugazze; a short detour to the Pasubio Memorial, a symbol of the suffering endured and the dedication dedicated to the Great War; then a crossing of the long Avis suspension bridge; arrival with a stop at the Campogrosso Pass; finally, a return from the northern slope of the Sengio, passing by the beautiful Malga Bovental (or Boffental) amidst green pastures dotted with enormous erratic boulders fallen from the Sengio itself.
Today we practically walked to the front door. We started at the parking lot of the Passo Pian delle Fugazze towards Ossario del Pasubio. There is both a museum and a monument in which the remains of 5,000 soldiers who died in the First World War are buried. Today on Monday, but it is closed there. So we continued on the Strada del Re, which was divided by a landslide after severe weather in the late 1950s. The Ponte Avis, a Tibetan suspension bridge, now connects the two ends again and allows us to continue our beautiful circular route. Past wonderful mountain panoramas and across wide cattle pastures. Not quite as steep today but just as beautiful😍.
There are a couple of sections to watch out for, to avoid slipping. The first is the descent to the "AVIS" bridge. The second is the climb to the Boffetal mountain hut. Therefore, suitable hiking shoes and poles are essential.
Cima Cornetto and tour of the ridges not practicable due to snow, too bad!
