A very beautiful and varied tour. The gorge isn't even remotely photographable as you encounter it. The perfect end to our wonderful vacation in the beautiful Luberon!

A beautiful hike through the Gorges de la Nesque...
a breathtaking gorge with steep cliffs.
It was more challenging than expected. Some small climbs, some a bit exposed. (Exactly my specialty 😩)... but it wasn't a problem this time!!
A paradise for road cyclists.

A relatively unknown gorge, but with impressive views. It's often referred to as the little (lesser-known) sister of the Verfon Gorges. The road is also a must-see.

Paths are not super narrow or dangerous, but sometimes directly above nothing, so it is better to keep your eyes strictly on the path at these points.

Depart from the church of Monieux, at the southern end of the Place de la Liberté, take the stone staircase on the right to reach point A by a fairly steep path.

Planned as a recovery loop, this hike turned out to be hard preparation for our planned ascent of Mont Ventoux tomorrow.

Long ascent without shade, demanding ground, complicated descent into the Gorges de la Nesque with crossing of the wild stream in the valley.

Beautiful, wild and varied landscape - a surprising round for us.

Third version of these gorges, this time on foot and passing through the bottom, in which there is a 12th century chapel. The descent as well as the ascent are really nice, sometimes you find yourself above large cliff blocks, sometimes below. Nothing technically difficult (a few rocky steps but quiet) but a fun path with great views of these …

Same outing as yesterday but I went faster especially on the climbs. Oh well it's pulsating on the way back up the gorges, especially at the end where it's just steps. It feels good. I added a little detour to the old watchtower of the village (12th century) of which only a section of wall is still standing.
