Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is right next to a parking lot.

A beautiful tour, challenging in terms of elevation gain, especially in the first part, with some longer climbs. The descent to Haria and the ascent to the Mirador del Rio are highlights. Unfortunately, access to the Mirador is subject to a fee, even if you just want a coffee at the bar. However, the view from the western access road is at least as beautiful. It's a good idea to stop for a swim on the LZ-1 between kilometers 30 and 32, as there are some beautiful, uncrowded stretches of beach there. Jameos del Agua and Jardín de Cactus can be included as stops, if you don't already have them on your Lanzarote to-do list. The wind chimes are both by Cesár Manrique. There's another one near the Fundación Cesár Manrique for those interested. Overall, a great and varied tour.
Took a racing bike from the very nice rental company "Arrietabikes" and explored the north of the island, between Órzola and Arrecife. Very good bike, good roads, drivers who kept their distance, great views, but also quite a bit of wind. Most of the route is recommended, only Arrecife is impractical for cycling. The first section on the LZ-1 to Órzola is flat, but beautiful because of the sea views - there are even white sandy beaches here. The very quiet road from Órzola up to Ye and the Mirador del Río is already a highlight of the tour, but in some sections it is quite steep. Behind the Mirador, the spectacular route continues on a small, walled road above the cliff, with a panoramic view of the volcanoes in the south of the island. Downhill, but with counter-climbs, to Haría, where the island is at its greenest and an open supermarket helps to replenish water supplies. Then the second long climb, this time not as steep, over several switchbacks to the Mirador Barranco del Chafarís. There you are just below the highest peak on the island, which is not accessible by bike. The descent towards Teguise is definitely fun if the south wind is not blowing as hard as it was today. The old island capital is also worth seeing in itself, but today's route leads past it and further down towards Arrecife, through a long chain of roundabouts. There are cycle paths in Arrecife, but they are usually not easy to ride on, and the many stop signs are also a bit confusing after the great route through the mountains. The central area with the boats and cafes is beautiful, and on the way out you are also treated to something else with the harbor and a real shipwreck. The last stretch behind Costa Teguise is once again open, on the island's official cycle path. Through the desert-like landscape at Tiñaguase we return to the LZ-1, or rather to the beautiful parallel cycle road.
Lanzarote Day 2: Queen's stage to the highest point of the island and to the northern tip. Dream weather again, but the familiar wind.
Awesome route 👌👍👍 Unfortunately, I had to cut the tour short. I had actually planned more❗️I was completely soaked and frozen. In the mountains, heavy rain came with a strong wind 😕 That made the descent no longer fun. Climbed up almost for nothing (up to 17% gradient). At least the view of the island of La Graciosa was magnificent 🤩 there was sun and I met nice people😊 ☀️At the hotel, the sun was shining again and it was warm 😊
