Hiking
Idyllic paths and wonderful views await you on the approximately ten-kilometer-long Menzenschwand Geißenpfad - including the ringing of goat bells. The starting point of the circular hike is the Mösle car park in Menzenschwand Hinterdorf. Right at the beginning you walk past old Black Forest farms, a great start to a picturesque hike.
Halfway up the valley, the path takes you past various fields, such as the "Brändler" and "Im Geschweih". Soon you are standing at the ancient terminal moraines that mark the ice edge of the former Feldberg glacier. Right next door is the Flößers Rast, a beautiful place that rafters once used for a break.
The walk continues over a wooden footbridge into the Menzenschwand Alb with wonderful views of the Klusenbach valley. You walk past an old charcoal burner's site and down into the valley. Can you hear the Menzenschwand waterfalls rushing? You can take a break at a rest area, watch the natural spectacle and refresh yourself on a hot summer day. If you are hungry, you can find something to eat at the “Zum Kuckuck” café.
With renewed energy, you continue over the Weidberg to a particularly beautiful alder forest and the two radon and fluorite springs. The path takes you further over the Krunkelbach. You can walk back to your starting point in a relaxed manner on meadow paths and over several waterways.

The Menzenschwand Geißenpfad (Gait Trail) is a themed trail and part of the Schluchtensteig (Gorge Trail). There are many benches and rest areas, as well as information panels, for example, about glacial moraines and a gorge (a gorge or klause is a weir built to dam water for rafting), charcoal burners, an old loading ramp, etc. The landscape is impressive, and the views of the Menzenschwand Valley are magnificent and very varied. The unfortunately very short trail through the Alb Gorge with its waterfalls should not be missed. All in all: a truly great tour!👍🙂
Beautiful, very well signposted circular route on partly narrow paths, the little goats always in view. On top of that, the path leads through the Menzenschwand waterfalls.
The hike was very scenic, with beautiful views and a small but lovely waterfall. However, in my opinion, there were too many logging roads and asphalt paths for a premium hike.
The award-winning Menzenschwand Goat Trail at the foot of the Feldberg mountain captivated us. It offers endless variety: valleys carved by glaciers, waterfalls, magnificent views, wonderful old Black Forest farms, and, as the name suggests: goats. 🐐🐐🐐 With a bit of luck, you might even spot a few of their wild relatives, the chamois.
Today I was traveling with a great young man who I had met on the "Teinacher". Andy and I had so much fun. It was a great day. All said 😍
Beautiful circular hiking trail with very beautiful paths and great views. I can only recommend it! 😊 Huge parking lot (chargeable)
We started just before sunrise to enjoy the silence and the morning. It goes through beautiful nature, with pastures where cows and goats graze. Through forests that are wonderfully cool. A really wonderful route!
Today, I wanted something less strenuous...so I decided to take the Goat Trail here in Menzenschwand. This leisurely trail leads through a beautiful landscape, especially the last 3 km downhill along wonderful paths with a magnificent view of the Feldberg Tower. I didn't see any goats, but that didn't detract from the tour.
