This route was planned by komoot.
It was a very nice route to get used to. Good path with a few ups and downs, it's not a comfortable Sunday walk. With the 3 roques in the water you can continue walking. There is an official route over the mountain (housing estate). The lower path along the stone beach. Important: BE AWARE OF THE TIDES!!!! Or you can take the half-high path, but it is officially closed (the fence is passable). We went back before. A cozy stop at the Pizzería la Artesana (very German crowd).
Coastal path that runs between Rambla de Castro and Los Roques beach, in the municipality of Los Realejos, Tenerife. La Rambla de Castro is a rehabilitated park in the Castro ravine, with a 16th century house and its subsequent modifications. There is a fort, (fort of San Fernando from 1808) used to defend against pirate attacks, which still preserves 3 artillery pieces from the time. In the area there are several abandoned buildings that served as water lifts for the springs in the area. On the beach of Castro there is a small waterfall that pours its waters directly into the sea. The trail continues to the ruins of the La Gordejuela water lift and then continues to Los Roques beach. The path itself is a coastal path where we can admire the beauty of the cliffs in this area, a protected natural landscape. It has an urban section in which we will cross two streets of the La Romántica urbanization and then continue along another more rugged section that will take us to the Peje Reyes viewpoint where we have a very beautiful view of Los Roques beach. This beach is very dangerous for swimming, as indicated by the danger signs. The trail continues to Puerto de la Cruz, but is closed to the public due to landslides as evidenced by warning signs and enclosure fences, which some people skip under their entire responsibility. I advise following the warnings. It is time to return where we have come to collect the vehicle, in total about 9 km in round trip, but that are very pleasant to do. A nature reserve with many palm trees and spectacular views. A highlight is Tenerife's first steam engine – built in 1903 in difficult terrain – no longer in operation and already quite dilapidated.
Tenerife: Today we hiked a classic, the coastal trail near Puerto de la Cruz. We started at the Mirador San Pedro and after a look at Roque Chico and Roque Grande we headed back.
Today @Norbert took us on a spectacular coastal hike. We walked up and down the steep coast near Puerto de la Cruz above the mighty surf. It's unbelievable how big houseplants like ficus and dragon trees grow here... and I didn't know that banana plants were so huge. 😲
Before heading back home next week, soaking up some sun one last time. Here in the south, the weather is not expected to be good today. So, a short tour along the coast of La Rambla de Castro near Puerto de la Cruz. Via Mirr. Petrus to the rock group El Chico and Grande. The narrow path above these rocks is unfortunately closed towards Puerto - blocked. 🤔 The path to the peninsula with the great rock massif is easy to walk.
A wonderful trail along the north coast. It starts at a parking lot that is unfortunately very busy, especially since the restaurant there serves very good food. Unfortunately, I only have a few pictures because my battery died. The trail begins at the top with a view and then goes through a kind of botanical garden with a variety of exotic plants and flowers. There are always new paths to discover, and there are plenty of clean picnic areas. I think the area there is very beautiful in contrast to the strong surf. Highly recommended. Best regards.
Morning stroll along the coast. The highlight is definitely the green oasis near San Vicente – immerse yourself in a sea of palm trees.
