We hiked the circular route in the opposite direction to the suggested route so that the less beautiful part of the route was at the beginning. A short river crossing was necessary on the north bank, which was not planned and is not part of the original route. We were not the only ones who took their shoes off... The motorway bridge spoils the overall picture a little, especially since the path runs directly underneath it in parts.

Unfortunately, the west bank is only accessible by road. It's about 3km. It was a bit uncomfortable for the dog in the blazing sun. Luckily there was very little traffic that day.

ATTENTION: despite the signs, the tour of the lake is not a loop; there are more than 2km to go to return to the starting point, which must be done on the main road.

Beautiful circular route around Lago di Cavazzo. We went the loop in the opposite direction to the signs in order to have the upper part, which for the most part leads along a road above the lake, right at the beginning. The second advantage is that on the other side of the hiking trail directly on the lake with beautiful bays and beach sections invite you to stop for a swim. A cool down at 🐷-e cold 10 degrees water temperature was also urgently needed 🥵 ☀️😅

February 16, 2025, Lago di Cavazzo

A circular route that is easy to walk and drive on, even with a stroller. Only 2.5 km along the west side of the lake are on the road. During our walk, this section was in the shade, which meant that the temperature was noticeably cooler. Now in February, there are only a few people around. I would definitely recommend it, especially since there is still 30 cm of snow here in Carinthia and the miracle of spring is already omnipresent.

A long, extremely dangerous passage on the road. Avoid with children.

The tour of the lake of the three municipalities is always beautiful and relaxing..

Path suitable for everyone, too bad that the last km are on asphalt away from the lake
