This 65-kilometre loop connects three beautiful river valleys with their respective special features: the Altmühltal with its climbing rocks and juniper heaths, the extensive Wellheimer Trockental and the Schuttertal between hard Jura rock and deposits from the Cretaceous period. Starting from Eichstätt, which you can also reach by train, you…

It happened as it had to: after two kilometers, the front fender leaned towards the tire (the mount on the fork bridge had broken), and so we had to return to the bike shop in Eichstätt. So we went to the "Xterno Bikes" workshop and explained the problem. The friendly colleague said, "But I don't have the fender." I replied, "If I were at home, I would..." The friendly man said, "But you're not at home..." In short: the workshop provided me with free tools and cable ties, and we were able to solve the problem ourselves. A truly fantastic service. They were very happy about the donation for the coffee fund. It's simply great that something like this still exists!

I forgot to queue during a break. That's why I'm missing 3 kilometers. It was a wonderful tour from the hotel to Wellheim, Zell a. d. Speck, Nassenfels, Pfünz, Eichstätt, Dollenstein, Wellheim to Hard. The weather was great, not too hot and no rain. Simply great 🥰🚴🏿‍♀️🌞

Great tour on the Altmühlradweg from Eichstätt to Dollnstein. Right at the beginning I have more pictures than usual, but we haven't experienced anything like this before. Such trusting ducklings, who even ran after a mum with a pram :-) So there was really heavy traffic on the way. Then we went to Wellheim in the Urdonautal. Via the Schuttertal to Nassenfels (seen storks again) along the Schutter is really a great experience of nature. https://www.naturpark-altmuehltal.de/routen/10_3-taeler-tour_urdonau-_schu-3220/ CONCLUSION: Fantastic landscape, always small rest areas and great signage. Unfortunately we didn't find an open beer garden on the round. Only back in Eichstätt.

The beginning of the tour is not so nice because it is on the country road, but then the tour is under nice after a short time. Up and down through the woods. In great ways. But see for yourself and take the tour.

Unfortunately the GPS dropped out. This tour is contained in an Altmuhltal flyer and is well signposted. It's nice to drive, except for the detour in front of Hütting, you could save yourself that, we let ourselves be navigated and fell in. The highlight for us was the Naturfreundehaus Konstein and Nassenfels Castle, and of course the Burgsteinfelsen.

I have already ridden parts of the route individually several times. Now first of all as a round ... and I have to say that is my absolute favorite track. Great paths, great sights, sometimes far away from traffic. If you take your time, this tour is a nice day to slow down :-)

The bike tour is in the book "Bahnrassenradeln in Bayern". The section from Dollnstein to Nassenfels in the Urdonautal is particularly beautiful. From Pfünz to Eichstätt and Dollnstein to Wellheim you drive on abandoned railway lines.

From Dollnstein in the Urdonautal to Pfünz ... a VERY nice bike tour with my parents
