This route was planned by komoot.
This is a circular tour around La Spezia that I started from the small piazza just south of the station. I found it on the Komoot website. Pretty soon on the tour you reach the castle of Saint George where there are good views over the city. To get here, you will have climbed up some stairs and there are many of them in the city. Then it is down to the harbour area, where there is a graceful suspension bridge. A stroll along the promenade brings you to where you start a climb through streets to Parco delle Mura, a First World War fortification. This is a long, very long part of the tour and once you have started it you have to complete it. There is also a very steep climb up steps into the park. I found the Scalatina Paganini an impressive set of steps leading down into the city interesting. There were some interesting things to see along the route, though for its length there was not enough of interest. I would not recommend it.
