October 30, 2022, Monte Vettore Gipfelwanderung

A fantastic summit tour with great views. Technically very easy, always on fairly wide gravel roads. But it is steady and uphill all the time and sometimes quite steep. Above the tree line, you have wonderful views of the Adriatic Sea throughout the tour. The start is quite steep and the path is stony. Then it branches off through the pastures. The last piece up to the Refuge is a bit challenging. There are no gray areas. From the Refuge you can proceed to the top of Mount Carrier or go down to the Pilato lakes. Due to drought they are reduced ... we must not go near the water to preserve the eggs of the prehistoric shrimps that live there. The descent to the lakes is difficult because it is all stony with some EE sections. We have not found any water sources.
