Beautiful walk through a lovely quiet area. Lots of flies this time in the Kijfhoek area. Ate a plate of delicious fries at the farm. 😊
Beautiful walk. For Kijfhoek and Bierlap you need a day ticket. Available online for 2 euros (2025). Dogs are not allowed in this area because of the wildlife.
Beautiful dune area, part of Meijendel. For this part you need to buy a day ticket. Can be done online, but also via QR code on site. A limited number of people are allowed per day. It is therefore wonderfully quiet! This walk is inspired by a series that @Aad Milla has walked. Nice!

Today I met up with Ingrid to take another long walk a little further from home. Unfortunately, the weather forecast wasn't great, so after checking the rain radar, the best option seemed to be to drive towards the coast. I had another walk on my list there. After coffee and cake, we watched the rain clear and headed out to Meijendel, then Kijkhoek and Bierlap. A beautiful dune area full of hawthorns, strong climbers, stunning views, wild horses, and dune ponds. We also walked towards the beach where we could see the Scheveningen pier. We ended the day with pancakes at the farm.
If you like walking and peace, then you have come to the right place. This walk goes through a closed area where only a limited number of people are allowed. You are only welcome here with an entrance ticket of 2€. Kijfhoek and Bierlap is truly a pleasure to walk in. We wandered through the dunes for more than 2 hours and perhaps only met 2 or 3 oncoming traffic. A real rarity because you are here in the busy Randstad close to a busy city. There is still real silence here. The landscape is varied and you will really feel the walking here. It is almost everywhere loose sand and it goes up and down quite often. If you like walking, then this is definitely a must. ☀️
