Hiking
On this wonderful hike, which leads you deep into the valley of the Warche, you can enjoy unique views of torrents, steep rocks and - as a special highlight - a medieval castle.
Your tour starts in the tranquil Xhoffraix. Large, perfectly cut hedges protect the small town from the harsh weather conditions, while torrents plunge dramatically from the plateau. As soon as you leave Xhoffraix behind you, the whole beauty of the Warche valley opens up in front of you. A steep path sweeping uphill takes you into a narrow gorge and at the foot of Reinhardstein Castle. For a perfect panoramic view of the medieval castle from the 14th century and the narrow valley, you hike a few more meters up to a narrow ridge.
At Camping du Moulin you can stop off at the cozy café "Au Moulin", which has no fewer than 44 Belgian beers. A final rooted climb takes you back along the Coreu stream to where your day hike started.

Nice tour even for those with little experience. 14 km uphill and downhill, but we also climbed about 500 meters, komoot gave a few meters less. I don't see any alpine difficulties but you should wear good shoes and have a basic level of stamina
A very beautiful tour through the Belgian Ardennes. Lots of beautiful singletrack trails, distant views, and deep valleys. The first section (approx. 2 km) is a bit boring, with lots of asphalt and settlements. After that, you immerse yourself in the Ardennes. You mostly follow the "Venntrilogie" trail. Starting early in the morning (Easter Sunday), you're on your own for a long, long time without seeing a soul. Along the way (shortly after the Cascade de Reinhardstein), you missed the trail (it was probably nothing more than a dirt track). The GPS was also poor; the map suggested going up. So, I took the next best path (an old stream bed) and headed up. 🥾 After that, no more trouble finding my way 😅 Sturdy shoes are a plus
Very strenuous tour, with many meters of altitude. But scenically beautiful. Wanted to take a shortcut, which unfortunately became the "Hell Road". The way went down very steeply and when we arrived at the bottom, a water blocked our way, so that we had to go back the "hell path".
Cascade de Reinhardstein - Around Xhoffraix in the 🇧🇪 Ardennes 15.1 km ⛔️Not for beginners or old/sick dogs/people ⛔️ Sunday morning we went abroad for the first time. The destination was 🇧🇪, or rather the small Walloon village of Xhoffraix in the Ardennes. After almost 2 hours of driving, we arrived at the starting point in perfect Kaiser weather. After we crossed the picturesque village for a bit, we then went into the beautiful forest area. The first part took us past frozen fields covered in dew before we came across wonderful forest paths and a small descent to the La Warche river. We continued along the river over frozen bridges to the waterfall. To get there we first had to cross the river😂. The #cascadedereinhardstein is the largest waterfall 🇧🇪, and an absolute highlight. Now the first climb was on the agenda, from the waterfall we went up with a view of the #schlossreinhardstein along wonderful narrow forest paths with sometimes breathtaking views. The play of colors in nature through the frost/thaw/hoarfrost of the nights was simply unique. The next 4km were very hilly but perfect for running. Sometimes you had to be really careful because the paths were very narrow and some of them were still frozen. But no matter whether it was the light displays in the forest, the wonderful views or the great paths, the km and time flew by. After a break with typical Belgian waffles a wonderful old tavern, we then went on the last 3km, which were to be the hardest for us so far. The final climb back to the village took us over narrow root paths with a gradient of almost 50 percent at the top, through a beautiful, natural forest area. It was absolutely brutal for me at the end and nothing to compare with previous climbs, with Archie going up there with an ease that I would never have imagined. Once at the top, it was an indescribable feeling full of joy and pride to have experienced this special tour with your best friend. Conclusion 10/10 with ⭐️ For me it was the best and, above all, most beautiful hike we have done so far. However, due to the last climb, you really have to be careful, after 12 km in your legs, walking up this ramp on the narrow paths demands everything from you and is absolutely not to be underestimated. ⛔️That's why I ask again, only healthy, fit and, above all, experienced dog-human teams should do this hike ⛔️ It is a totally varied route and it offers everything a hiking heart desires. No matter whether there are narrow, narrow paths/paths, fantastic views with a breathtaking panorama and play of colors, or the wide fields that are frozen over and covered in dew, everything just fits together perfectly. In addition, of course, there is the impulsive waterfall, the largest in Belgium, and the very beautiful view of the castle. Before the last climb you should definitely take a break in the tavern and enjoy the mega hospitality, but be careful, only French is spoken. Your dog can even run around freely there if you want. But I left Archie on a leash. You and especially your four-legged friend will get their money's worth here and you can simply spend a mega dream day here
Had to import the plan again because shortly before the end the Garmin stopped working :-)
Today, with the beautiful weather, we chose a tour in East Belgium. We started at the playground in Xhoffraix. After a short walk through the village, we climbed along excellent hiking trails and nature trails. Reinhardstein Castle is worth a first rest stop. Those who want can also take a tour (for a fee). We continued up to the Barrage de Robertville (dam). The dam is impressive in itself. We continued along a beautiful forest and mountain path with beautiful viewpoints to the Camping Du Moulin tavern. Be sure to take a final rest there. It's worth it just for the 44 types of beer they serve. They also serve coffee and cake, and you can also eat something. After the rest, we set off on the final leg. Past a quarry, we then climbed steeply again, which shouldn't be underestimated. Conclusion: It was a really great tour with several high points and consistently amazing views. The forest and mountain paths were also great.
Dense forests (singletrack), root-rock paths, streams, vistas, Château Reinhardstein, Nez Napoleon, Cascade, Barrage de Robertville... in short, plenty to see and do😃 (even a dip in the La Warche). I followed the "green duck" with a few small homemade twists here and there. Enjoyed apple pie at Du Moulin.
