Mysterious nature and loneliness in one of the wildest areas of Belgium await you on this hike along the idyllic reservoir of Nisramont.
You start your adventurous hike at the Barrage de Nisramont - a dam that has been damaging the Ourthe River for over 60 years. A rocky path takes you to the top and gives you the most beautiful views of the meandering river with its densely forested banks. Here, in the heart of the Ardennes, the eastern and western Ourthe flow to the lake "Le Lac de Nisramont". Now it goes steeply upwards and you climb from rock to rock from the banks of the eastern to the western Ourthe.
Narrow switchbacks take you to Point Kwai at an altitude of 275 meters. You cross a tributary of the Ourthe via a rustic wooden bridge. The riverside path along the reservoir brings you very close to the picturesque river before you end your hike at the dam.

Nice walk, mostly in the shade. Alternating flat and climbs. Good for very sunny days. Afterwards, relax on the terrace of the tavern.

Beautiful walk around the reservoir. Simply fantastic.
Very pleasant course of 13 kilometers in the woods and paths on the outskirts or in heights not far from the water. Some portions can be dangerous if it's wet.
Great tour, always on the water and without touching the road
Very nice round. Fairly long but not difficult. Ok some passages where you can slip but you hold on to the branches... Attention: hunters until 1 p.m. on a public holiday on part of the course! A bit crowded from 1 p.m. (perhaps because hunting before?). We, not bothered by the hunt because we started on the other side and we arrived at 1 p.m. at the place of the hunters (who had just finished).
