The last section of the gate is no longer accessible. Shortly before the building with the turret, a path has been newly marked and is accessible all the way to the end. Do not turn right to the rowing boat with the turret, but continue straight ahead.

In winter - we walked the route in January - some of the paths are very muddy and slippery!

Very nice tour, but it took us longer, sometimes quite steep and rocky. It was nice to swim in the sea at the end of the Baia di Trentova. Important - bring your swimwear with you!

Cilento National Park From Agropoli baia di trentova along the Tresino trails, abandoned village of San Giovanni SALERNO ITALY EXCURSION DATE: March 30, 2025 KM: 12 ITINERARY: RING Baia di Trentova - scoglio del sale - loc. Pastena - Ruins - abandoned village of San Giovanni - Pastena - belvedere trail - baia di trentova DIFFICULTY: E WATER POINTS: non-existent along the route, bar at the beginning of the route VEGETATION (in March): Low, in some places there are brambles but not invasive. Well-kept trail. ANIMALS: none PARKING: free in March near the baia di trentova REST AREAS: small tables with benches along the route, village of San Giovanni. Fairly simple route, classified with difficulty E 1 for the Length 2 being clayey almost for the entire route after the rains (as happened to us), the ground is very slippery and very very muddy. Simple difference in altitude, marked routes and in my opinion well maintained. 1 private property almost at the end of the route forced us to deviate and lengthen the tour a bit. All in all the tour was interesting. As regards the abandoned village of San Giovanni which is very interesting it is highly recommended not to venture inside the ruins as they are in a phase of decay.

Polar registration After the long summer break, we resumed with a "classic" excursion in the splendid Cilento between Agropoli and Santa Maria di Castellabate. Starting from the bay of Trentova, we followed a stretch of the 700 Atzeni path, then a rather treacherous T2 due to the slope and the vegetation that blocked the path; then, we walked part of the "Stone Bridges Path" up to the Ancient Abandoned Village of San Giovanni. From here we continued until we reached the sea in the lake area of Santa Maria di Castellabate. We made the return by following the 700 Atzeni path along the coast, passing through Punta Tresino, admiring the Sauco Bay with its "Vallone", until returning to the Trentova car park. A total of 14 km with Mediterranean scrub, undergrowth, green pine forests, views with beautiful colors although the weather wasn't the best. I thank my travel companions: @Angelo, Elisabetta, @Antonio, Vitina, @Alfonso

(Polar recording) Wow!!!! Splendid mid-April morning in the Trentova-Tresino Naturalistic Area. No wind, temperature between 18° in the morning at 7.30am and 28° at 1.30pm when we concluded the excursion. 15.5 km immersed in the beautiful colors of the Mediterranean scrub enhanced on this clear day which offered a spectacle of pure harmony with the fusion of the colors of the sea, the Mediterranean scrub, the colorful flowers, the crystalline sea. I've been there many times but, whatever the season, the show is always remarkable. Today we did a first stretch along the Trentova-Pastena bay then we went up the hill until we reached the locality Le Conche, panoramic and very characteristic with these megaliths, with excavated basins. Then we made a quick stop at the Abandoned Village of San Giovanni. From here, we went down towards Santa Maria di Castellabate, immortalized in a successful film from a few years ago entitled "Welcome to the South", and we stopped for a while in the lake area with its characteristic crystal clear sea. We returned to the starting point following the Atzeni path 700, passing through the ruins of Punta Tresino and admiring the splendid "Vallone" (Sauco bay) from above. I thank my adventure friends @Reborn (Renato), @Roberto Marrapodi, @Tomas60 (Antonio), Elisabetta, @Libero Abele (Antonio) with whom I cultivate this recent passion of mine (just over four years old) for hiking. Maybe I take too many photos but I find that images are more effective than words.

(Polar Recording) Today with @Elisabetta and @Alfonso Tagliamonte we returned to walk a very beautiful ring in the Trentova-Tresino Natural Area in the magical Cilento. Splendid day at the end of February. Fantastic colors: sky, Mediterranean scrub, undergrowth, crystalline sea. A true enchantment. I only point out that the ground in several sections was slippery, in others there was an accumulation of water that however we overcame without great difficulty. Tour done several times, in all seasons and always evocative. I hope the photos and the short video describe the places better than many words.
