Hiking
Located in the heart of the Finnish Lake District, Linnansaari National Park is not only a place of wonderful tranquility, you can also discover pretty old farmhouses and lush green islands. The rare ringed seals also live here, preferring the lakes of Finland to the sea as their home. And by the way, you can go hiking here.
Take the boat across to the main island of Linnansaari, where your circular walk starts. The trail is rocky and rooty in places, but the view from Linnavuori Rock of the offshore islands of the Saimaa Archipelago is worth the little effort. Also enjoy the section that leads you over narrow wooden planks along the Linnansaarenlampi - an idyllic pond. A hike that you will never forget.

Beautiful island. Some of the paths are good, but some are very challenging. Depending on which route you take.
Oravi Village is also today the starting point for our hike. https://www.oravivillage.com/en From here you can take a boat to the island where Linnansaari National Park is located. The crossing takes 10-15 minutes, the boats run according to the timetable, and if necessary, like today, also in between. As in all other national parks, the paths here are very well signposted and marked. From the jetty, turn left to the small cafe, where the path starts. The path has a lot of roots and stones, runs through the forest, over rocks and wooden elements. fantastic. It's always up and down, sometimes steep. You should be sure-footed and at least wear running shoes. You will be rewarded with great paths, forest and bays - and fantastic views. At the top of the tour, a stairway with metal steps leads to the lookout point on the rock, the view is simply epic. The way back is a little less strenuous and meanders through the forest. At the end, a visit to the cute cafe is worthwhile, the hike was not without effort, but very fulfilling with the diverse impressions.
