The Kufsteiner Elfenhain Trail is not just a short and crisp trail running round that is all about the sheer altitude difference. All senses are activated when walking through the enchanted elven grove with its ancient beech and pine trees. The path with bridges and footbridges zigzags uphill through the mountain forest. After you have mastered all the serpentines, you can take a breather in the Hinterduxerhof.
Whether you just enjoy the incredible view at the foot of the Brentenjoch or let yourself be spoiled with a few Tyrolean delicacies is entirely up to you. After the break, the trail takes you a little further uphill through the Kaisergebirge nature reserve to the Duxer Köpfl. Let the great view of Kufstein take effect on you again before you make your way back down into the valley. The downhill is a lot of fun with rooty forest paths and finally brings you back to the Motorikpark in Kufstein, where you started.
If you are traveling by car, the best place to park for the Elfenhain Trail is in the free car park at Motorikpark. Otherwise you can reach the starting point of the tour in about 20 minutes on foot from Kufstein train station. It is also easy to get there by city bus lines 1, 2, 3 or lines 4902, 4068 or 4055 to the Kufstein Kinkstrasse stop.
