I'd say a shot was fired somewhere about every 20 minutes. This is illegal hunting of migratory birds. Today, Heiko was initially delighted by the whistling of song thrushes. As we got closer, we saw that they were song thrushes in narrow cages located in the middle of the forest. The "purpose" is to keep the birds in the dark when they aren't needed. Then, when needed, they are put into a cage. Delighted by the daylight and driven by the desire to move on, they sing at the top of their lungs. This attracts other song thrushes that are currently flying south, which are then shot. Today, in particular, we found numerous cages and even glue traps in which the birds are stuck.
