This route was planned by komoot.
The full loop from The Venetian to the Luxor and back is approximately 5.2 to 6 miles (8.3 to 9.6 km) and can take around 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours without stops. However, with frequent stops to explore attractions and navigate crowds, plan for a much longer duration, easily half a day or more.
The route primarily consists of wide, paved sidewalks. You'll frequently use elevated pedestrian bridges and escalators to cross busy intersections and move between casino properties. While generally flat, the constant up and down of bridges adds to the physical exertion. Some sections can be narrow due to crowds.
This walk offers a continuous panorama of elaborate themed resorts, casinos, and attractions. You'll pass by landmarks like The Venetian Resort, Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino, the Fountains of Bellagio, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, and the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, culminating at the Luxor pyramid.
The best time to walk this route is during the cooler months, from late fall to early spring (October to April). Las Vegas summers can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38°C), making long walks challenging. Evenings are generally more comfortable year-round, offering a vibrant, neon-lit atmosphere.
While the sidewalks are public, many casinos and indoor attractions along the Strip do not permit dogs, with the exception of service animals. It's generally not recommended for dogs due to extreme heat, crowded conditions, and limited access to amenities.
No, walking the Las Vegas Strip is free and does not require any permits or entrance fees. All sidewalks and pedestrian bridges are publicly accessible.
Parking is available at various hotels and casinos along the Strip, including at The Venetian or the Luxor. Many resorts charge for parking, though some may offer free parking for guests or those with loyalty program status. Consider using ride-sharing or public transport to avoid parking fees and hassle.
Yes, the Las Vegas Monorail runs along the east side of the Strip, with stations near many major resorts, including The Venetian. The Deuce bus service also runs frequently along the entire Strip, providing an affordable way to get to and from your starting point.
The walk is generally suitable for families, offering many sights and attractions. However, be prepared for long distances, large crowds, and adult-oriented themes. Some sections of narrow sidewalk can be challenging with strollers. Consider breaking the walk into shorter segments or using the Monorail/Deuce for parts of the journey.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, as you'll be covering significant distances on paved surfaces. Carry plenty of water, especially during the day and warmer months, to stay hydrated. Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are also advisable. A small backpack for essentials is useful.
The main sidewalks are generally accessible, but navigating the Strip can be challenging. You'll encounter numerous pedestrian bridges with ramps or elevators, but some sections of sidewalk can be narrow, especially with crowds. Moving walkways are not always operational. Planning your route to minimize bridge crossings might be helpful.
To experience both the daytime architectural grandeur and the nighttime neon spectacle, consider starting your walk in the late afternoon. This allows you to see the transition and enjoy the cooler evening temperatures. Also, be aware that the experience changes significantly between day and night, with lighter crowds and clearer views during the day, and a more energetic, neon-lit atmosphere after dark.
Hi everyone, After I last told you about my night hike through San Francisco on our arrival day (Sat), we went cycling on the Golden Gate Bridge the next day. A real highlight! My report on this will follow soon and then also with video. I skip the Mon and Tue mornings, which were business-related, and have now arrived on Tue evening and that in Las Vegas. I love this city :-) ... but it seems that opinions differ. I am one of those people who are simply captivated by this hype. The sea of lights, the great themed hotels, the shows, ... simply amazing. How do you feel about this crazy city ... have you been there before ... would you go again or do the photos arouse your interest?
Enjoy the air in Las Vegas for a bit. Oh, the Strip hike was exhausting, the 9km according to Komoot is not correct, because the hikes in the hotels are not recorded, so the words immediately come out that they have lost the GPS signal.... And that was several meters. Without recording, the pictures from today's Tuesday night were added to the tour 🤩😅 So in the Luxor the walk to the swimming pool this morning was so far, at home I would cycle....🤠😅🤩 But now again no time, we are 9 hours behind the time in Bavaria and so it is almost 6pm here and in an hour Birgit and I will be enchanted, we have a date with David😅🤩😅🤩🤩🤩🤩🤠🤠🥰🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
