This route was planned by komoot.
Go into the dunes on a rainy day. Wow... it was so wet there, we had to take many detours because the paths were completely flooded. We had a beautiful walk and enjoyed nature, the company and being outside.
Bad weather was predicted today, but according to my weather app it would remain mostly dry in the afternoon. I decided to take my chance and take a walk in the Drunense dunes. To my surprise, the sun even came out, bringing the dunes to life, and the recent rainfall made you just smell the yellow sand in places. Blessed.
Finally went for a longer walk today. After having suffered from the lower back since the holidays, now I have taken the shoes out of the closet again Nice autumn walk with Amy and Ruben, the weather was great and never seen so many red and white mushrooms 😉👌
Wildlife drunense dunes . Today overrun by red ants and I ran after a butterfly for at least 20 meters that did not want to be in the picture. But also bumblebees and a ladybug spotted, And to top it off... in the green spot at photo 9 just behind the tree was a deer 5 meters away. We were both shocked, he was gone before I could take a picture of it.
Today another round of Drunense Dunes. Everything is fine, but in the stuffy places in the forest I let myself be hunted like the mosquito catcher of Hamelin. There were whole swarms after me there. If you stand still, well then they were really everywhere. So run a little faster. That makes you warm, and you attract more mosquitoes, so just a little faster... and a little warmer again... and therefore even more mosquitoes......
Started today from the large (free) parking lot at the Giersbergen in Drunen. This is located on the edge of National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen (Natuurpunt). This walking route runs on sandy and forest paths and along the Bosch & Duin lookout point. From here you have a beautiful panoramic view over the large drifting sand plains. National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen is a nature reserve of more than 3500 hectares. All in all, a beautiful area where you can walk for hours!
