Hiking
The focus of this hike is on the old mills around Mückeln and Strotzbüsch - in a wonderful natural landscape with lonely stream valleys.
The path starts at the Siebenbachtal car park on the L52 towards Lutzerath and runs through the middle of the Siebenbachtal to the Oberscheidweiler mill, which is located directly on the Alfbach. The path leads up to Mückeln via natural paths and asphalted paths. Past the idyllic monastery pond we go to the Schutzalf memorial. From there the path runs along the Diefenbach to the Immerather Maar. Past the Immerather mill we then return to Strotzbüsch.

Nice hike, you should follow the detour right at the beginning behind the Üßbachhütte if you don't want to wade through the water behind the Strotzbüscher campsite. After the flood of 2021, the bridge has not yet been renewed. After the description of the route on the website I expected more, but it is still worth the walk. There is a lot of asphalt and it felt like nobody had hiked here for a long time, everything was totally overgrown. Except in Mückeln, I met nobody! The Strotzbüscher spring in the Üßbachtal is a warm spring and slightly salty. The temperature is about 20 °.
Highly recommended tour. We started in Strotzbüsch an der Mühle, but entry is also possible in other ways. At the moment one or the other bridge is missing due to the storm, but through the stream it is also very refreshing😅. If 24km is not enough for you, you can extend the tour to the Immerather Maar.
