The 2,224 meter high Wildkogel offers you magical panoramas of the Hohe Tauern and the Großvenediger on this circular hike. From Neukirchen the Wildkogelbahn takes you up to the starting point at the mountain station. You initially hike in a relaxed manner past two reservoirs and over to the Wildkogel Alm and the mountain station of the Smaragdbahn.
Afterwards, a short but crisp climb takes you to the summit of the Wildkogel: the Hohe Tauern and the Kitzbühel Alps loom powerfully in front of you, and the beautiful Salzach Valley lies at your feet. Then you follow a panoramic mountain path down to the cozy Geisl Hochalm, which invites you to take a stop. The Kneipp facility at the hut promises wonderful refreshment.
Then you go uphill again briefly, where you pass the Ganzeralm, another managed hut. After a total of six kilometers you are back at the mountain station of the Wildkogelbahn.
