Monte Livata, with its 1,429 meters of altitude, is considered the mountain of the capital.
The tour starts from the Valle dell'Aniene - Mandela - Sambuci railway station. There are not many trains a day that connect Roma Tiburtina to this station: check the timetables carefully on the Trenitalia website.
Tackle the first kilometers of the Tour pedaling along pleasant provincial roads, finally arriving in Subiaco.
The climb that takes you up to Monte Livata begins in this village. After a few kilometers of ascent you can stop and admire the Benedictine monasteries. The road has very little traffic and passes near the village of Jenne. The position of this village is sublime: in fact it is immersed in the typical greenery of the mountain community of the Aniene valley.
From Jenne the road begins to climb more and more. At the top, large green spaces and various hiking trails await you. Face the descent that leads to Subiaco and, later, take the Sublacense which enters the via Tiburtina. Follow the Tiburtina state road: you won't find much traffic and you can easily reach the Valle dell'Aniene station.
