Wonderful and very varied tour that is really worth it. Unfortunately, the Garmin watch did not track 6 km correctly, because the hike is a good 15 km long, has 570 meters of altitude and takes about 4 hours. You should start early enough in the morning, otherwise it will get very crowded. Parking is € 8.
The Adolf-Munkel-Weg below the imposing north face of the Geisler is one of the most beautiful trails in the Dolomites. There is a breathtaking mountain backdrop to see. Beautiful alpine pastures also invite you to stop for a break.

After yesterday's long route, we headed into the Vilnösstal Valley today and hiked the Adolf Munkel Trail. I was surprised by the length of the route. The download showed me about 14 km, but in reality it was only about 9.5 km. Regardless, it was a fantastic tour through rustic forests and beautiful meadows to relax in, and the mighty Geisler massif loomed overhead. Unfortunately, this short tour was completely overcrowded, which is understandable given the nature of the hike. We were happy to find a parking space for 10 euros.
The Adolf Munkel Trail is a busy but beautiful trail below the Geisler peaks. It begins at the Zanseralm car park (€10 parking fee) and leads almost exclusively along rooty larch forest paths. The highlight is the alpine meadows at the foot of the Geisler peaks and at the Geisleralm. Here, there are many panoramic loungers, wooden rocking chairs, and other amenities on the slope with direct views of the peaks. An absolutely breathtaking view! You can eat well at the Geisleralm. Tip: If you prefer something a little less crowded, you can stop at the Dusleralm, just a few hundred meters below the Geisleralm, for significantly more reasonable prices and with a similarly beautiful view (take the trail that branches off to the right from the wide path after the Geisleralm). Overall, we liked it better than the very busy and busy Geisleralm because it is smaller and quieter. The only downside here was the pop music 🥴, but if you like it... Overall, it's another very beautiful trail, but unfortunately it's also very busy, especially in good weather, even in the off-season.
Challenging tour at the foot of the Geisler mountain peaks. Along the Adolf Munkel path past 3 alpine pastures. Admittedly very nicely laid out, unfortunately completely overcrowded with people. You have to queue at the entrance to the beer garden. It's better to take your own food with you. A shame. You have to pay 8 euros for the day for the parking lot. Fair or not, remains to be seen. The Seiser Alm would be a lot more expensive, however, as a parking lot there costs 28 euros and you can only drive there until 9 a.m. 😞. But my conclusion: thumbs up for the Zansser Alm. The climb is compensated by an impressive panorama of part of the Dolomites.
