This route was planned by komoot.
The journey to Taborno by car alone would have been enough of a day's experience. A beautiful winding road through the laurel forest. Steep cuts in the rock face that are overgrown with ferns and where trees and bushes grow out of the vertical wall. The whole journey was cloudy but dry. Unfortunately, at the start of the hike it started to rain, briefly but heavily. Large parts of the paths that were actually easy to walk on were extremely muddy. After just a short time, every shoe felt 1 kg heavier. Despite the weather, there were a lot of hikers out and about, including an unusually large number of families with children. The Roque de Taborno was always in sight and there were always spectacular views of the Los Galiones rock group, the coast and the incredibly beautiful backdrop of the Anaga Mountains. In the end, the weather played along too.
The tour starts at the entrance to Taborno, a town located on a mountain ridge with wonderful views of the Anaga Mountains and the coast. The path leads through the town to a mirador. From here we continue on narrow paths, mostly on rocky paths and ridge paths towards Roque de Taborno. We circle the mountain at its foot in steep terrain. We return to the town via the ridge path and through a steep slope. You shouldn't be afraid of heights on this hike.
A very scenic and short tour without much elevation gain, but with even more great views. The path is a bit narrow and exposed in places, but technically not difficult at all. Unfortunately there are only a few parking spaces in the village of Taborno, we parked a little way off the side of the road. In high season it may therefore be a good idea to take the bus. Currently as of 02/2025, no permit is required.
Quite a spectacular hike, with great views.
Breathtaking - certainly one of the highlights in Tenerife!
Since the Calima has finally calmed down a bit, we went to the Anaga Mountains today. Apart from the parking problem in Taborno, it was a great tour with magnificent views of deep gorges and along the coast. I would agree with the tip to do the tour in this direction and not the other way around. Only recommended in dry weather and I would also recommend that you don't suffer from vertigo. Definitely a thumbs up for this tour.
Very nice hike, definitely no fear of heights and good shoes
