Between the Marisa Consiglioeri refuge and the climb to Monte Rai there is this beautiful panoramic path on a slight slope that approaches a carriage road.
A nice relief for the body, it gives some rest before the last climb to the Cornizzolo / Rai peaks, and a feast for the eyes.
It is common to see grazing animals, sheep and a few horses.

Sasso Malascarpa

Highlight • Natural Monument

Sasso Malascarpa is not a simple rock, but a special conservation area and nature reserve. What is special here is precisely the soil: rich in fossils and evidence of prehistoric times. In this area there is a very developed network of paths, also full of explanatory signs that tell the history of the places you pass through.

Is this trail dog-friendly?

Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly. However, given the difficult and sometimes technical terrain, ensure your dog is fit for a long, strenuous hike and is accustomed to varied surfaces. June 30, 2024, Canzo - Gajum - Sev - monte Rai - Sec - monte Cornizzolo - Canzo

Nice excursion even if a little long and with a challenging difference in altitude, still suitable for dogs with the presence of water in the uphill stretch from Canzo to the SEV refuge then luckily there are also the SEV and SEC refuges where you can refresh yourself.
