A very last minute evening hike up Schiehallion 🙈 this was meant to be tomorrow morning's walk but the weather was set to take a turn for the worst so we moved it forward 🤪
Beautiful crisp clear day to climb this straightforward Munro.
Saturday 20th August 2022 Munro Route 6 I walked this one for the first time back in August 2018. Was, really nice to revisit this today with friends.
No. 48 of my #100komootwanders_2022 challenge. 💛 Saturday 20th August 2022
One of the easier Munros, but dont let Schiehallion fool you. The rubble and scree adorning the top make this one a challenge for the ankles. Lovely summit to rest at, as there is plenty of shelter between the crags.
Was a very demanding hike in very cold temperatures. At the start -3 degrees, at the summit -10 degrees plus strong wind, felt like -18 degrees. 80% of the path was covered in snow and very slippery. Partly sunny, fog at the summit, but overall beautiful view. High concentration required, up to 100% due to the weather conditions
A very popular route but the well marked path became non-existent as I got above the snowline. Quite a wild day with whiteout conditions for the last 150 metres of ascent. Schiehallion
