This route was planned by komoot.
Today excursion to the Picentini mountains starting from the sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo di Mezzo in Fisciano. "Overcast" weather was forecast, without rain and so it was. The excursion, on paper, did not present any particular difficulties and nine of us set off confident of spending a late winter morning immersed in the nature of the Picentini mountains. Although the route did not have significant differences in height, it was very difficult in the final stretch. With only 500m to go, it was not possible to proceed because the route was completely blocked by vegetation. Shears and billhooks were not enough to open a path through the brambles. So we were forced to retrace our steps and look for alternative, unmarked routes. In the end, we managed to get onto a secondary path and reach our destination, accumulating a "delay" of only an hour on the expected travel time. The excursion was beautiful, we visited the "Cisterns", we climbed Mount Palazzolo and then onto Pizzo del Capello where a very strong wind was blowing which did not allow us to cover the entire ridge. During the excursion the sky was constantly overcast so we could see the views with Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples unclearly. We will be back. Negative note for the poorly (or not at all!) maintained paths, even the "regional" ones. Thanks to the friends with whom I spent this beautiful morning: @Aannunzi, @Roberto Marrapodi, @Alfonso Tagliamonte; Elisabetta, Angela, @Tomas60, @Libero Abele and Maurizio who went on the first excursion with us today.
