The Appelsche Heide is an enchanting piece of nature. It is a quiet forest and heathland area with wet heathland.

A highlight of this walking route is the Appelvennetje. Here you can enjoy the beauty of the water, surrounded by nature. Please note: be prepared for wet feet and choose sturdy, waterproof walking shoes.

During your walk you will also pass the monumental farm De Ahof, which is more than 300 years old. This farm tells a piece of the rich history of this area and adds a touch of culture to your walking adventure.

How do you get here? The walk starts next to the parking lot on the Oude Voorthuizerweg. Unfortunately, this route is not easily accessible by public transport, so your own transport is certainly useful! A handy alternative: rent an OV-fiets at Nijkerk station and cycle to the starting point in about 25 minutes.
