This route was planned by komoot.
Today is my first tour after a week-long break and the completion of this year's heart project: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/3336769/-herz-projekt-v-zugunsten-kinderhospiz-stups On Mother's Day, I went to the depot in Brüggen: https://www.meinviersen.de/pois/munitionsdeport-brueggen/ There are certainly more beautiful tours and more beautiful heathland areas, but not so steeped in history...because this was once the largest ammunition depot in Western Europe. This tour is from the series https://www.wa-wa-we.eu/de/leichte-wander-welt.html , which is also wheelchair-inclusive. In the middle of the week, I will announce the final donation result for the Stups children's hospice here on Komoot. So stay tuned. Have a good start to the week. Best regards, #markusSupertramp
With the WoMo, the tour went to the Maas - Schwalm - Nette nature park on the Dutch border this weekend. A beautiful hiking trail on paved paths through a great landscape. Heath, which is grazed by wild horses, alternates with sparse pine forests. Only the chirping of birds interrupts the calm. But sometimes it is also a bicycle bell that alerts Tokyo and me that once again we claim the path only for ourselves. You can also ride a bike here.
Today, after a long time, I took advantage of the nice weather and paid a visit to the Bracht depot. Since almost everything there is asphalt, I had to "fight" more with thick ice than with mud in the woods. I forgot to start the recording when I started at the parking lot. That's why it starts somewhere in the depot.
In the fenced nature reserve, a former British military area, fallow deer, moorland sheep, Galloways and Konik horses help to graze the open areas, which are a valuable habitat for many rare animal and plant species. The animals in the depot are used to the many visitors and therefore are not particularly skittish. You can often get very close to them and observe them in peace before they calmly turn away. And with a lot of luck you might even see a black-throated thrush. The photos were taken on the red circular trail. There are also three other color-marked hiking trails and the white circular trail, which is particularly suitable for bike tours.
Despite the bad weather, we caught a break in the rain and quickly took our dog for a walk. He had a lot of fun even in the many puddles.
