Mountain biking

Like the others, this Tour starts from the center of Brescia. In the first kilometres, right in the heart of the city, I wanted to include a small but spectacular climb towards the castle. I recommend you visit it, perhaps even after returning to the city.

The first real climb of the day, after the short ascent to the castle, is Mount Maddalena, symbol of Brescia sport, where you will meet many people who, like you, are cycling or walking. To reach the summit, there are several options, I included the oldest, steepest and dirt route. However, you can always follow the main asphalt road, increasing the mileage and reducing the gradient.

Once at the summit, at around 850 meters above sea level, enjoy the view before continuing the itinerary, always away from traffic and surrounded by vegetation. Mount Maddalena is truly an open-air playground for those who love mountain biking. The network of paths in the area is very extensive. I confess that years ago I moved here precisely to explore it fully.

It's time to start the descent. Keep your concentration high and be careful on the way down. If you encounter passages that are too challenging, don't hesitate to get off your bike and tackle them on foot. Make sure you maintain the right tire pressure. On dirt roads it is essential not to have too high pressure; adjust it based on soil conditions and your weight.

Enjoy the final stretch, which continues to be off-road and fun, before returning to the starting point. Make sure you don't underestimate this exciting journey.

Have a nice rest!

Gran Fondo Brescia Downhill Trail

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

This stretch is particularly evocative when traveled downhill with your mountain bike. It is known for having been included in the Gran Fondo Brescia, an event dedicated to amateur cyclists in the area. Even in wet conditions, this route remains fun and does not have overly technical sections, thanks to its compact dirt surface.

Mompiano Valley

Highlight • Forest

The Mompiano Valley, a stone's throw from the city of Brescia, is an authentic green paradise. Enclosed to the north by Colle S. Giuseppe and surrounded to the east and south-east by the majestic mountain range of Mount Maddalena, it offers an enchanting landscape. The suggestive woods and cultivated fields make it the green lung of the city, it is an oasis of tranquility and nature. Here is a perfect place to regenerate and immerse yourself in the scenic beauty just a few steps from home.
