The Trail du Fournel stands out as an ideal short-distance race for budding trail runners or those of intermediate level wanting to challenge their speed. Departing from Argentière-la-Bessée, in the Fournel valley, participants are greeted by the view of the Hermes Clock.

The circuit continues by climbing towards the plateau nestled between Les Têtes and Château Le Brun. The climb is very demanding so measure your efforts: you will have time to accelerate later, with the profile which is flatter or downhill.

The emblematic chalets of Narreyroux announce the last energetic descent towards the Vallouise valley.

With its technical trails, its sharp single-tracks and its gravel tracks, the Trail du Fournel is, without doubt, an authentic trail experience.

The Hermes Clock

Highlight • Other

Located in Argentière-la-Bessée, the Hermes clock tower, built between 1920 and 1922, overlooks the town from its rock. Nicknamed "the bosses' clock", it testifies to a municipal initiative against the metallurgical factories. A dated bench invites you to admire the view. Nearby, the Via Ferrata offers a getaway. Although not currently open to visitors, the hope of opening during heritage days persists.

Lebrun Castle

Highlight • Castle

The plateau between les Têtes and Château Le Brun is a beautiful flowery Alpine meadow. At an altitude of approximately 2000 meters you cycle along a cart track and enjoy the views. For those who have not yet finished climbing: further on is a beautiful viewpoint from Les Têtes.
