Excursion in the Lepontine Alps crossing a valley full of waterfalls and rivers (bring your swimsuit!). The last stretch of the route is a challenging ascent towards a 2500 meter peak: Mount Ledù. Equip yourself with common sense!: the mountains don't joke with bad weather. Woke up at 4:30 to be on the trail at 6. I did really well because I was able to walk for most of the first leg without the heat. I left the car in Livo, just before the ticket junction there is free parking. Almost the entire route is in the shade of beech trees. I took countless baths in the streams of Val Darengo. When the path emerges into the mountain pastures, travel by sight with the red-white signs clearly visible. Signals are essential in case of fog! And in fact... The bad weather arrived after 12 (as usual in the mountains) and so at the Petazzi refuge I had to turn around. But first: a swim in the lake surrounded by ice... Very cold water!
destructive, long and steep tour which in half a day allowed me to reach one of the best positioned bivouacs in the Lombardy Alps. we are along the AVL, a path that explores the upper Lario area, on a balcony at 2200 meters overlooking the entire Lake Como.
