Running

This Tour is a half marathon ring that gently runs along the grassy hills of the Salto plateau.

The route starts from the Sports Area of San Genesio, easily reachable from Bolzano with bus line 156 in 20 minutes, which can drop you off directly at the start. The first few kilometers follow paved roads, but you soon turn onto dirt paths through dense forests. After some ups and downs, you reach the Tomano trattoria, next to the campsite, where the forest opens up, giving you a magnificent view of the valley and the mountains on the other side.

From this point, the trail becomes steeper as you head towards the Salto plateau, a runner's paradise with soft terrain, superlative views of the Dolomites and the presence of cows and horses enriching the experience. After a short descent through protected natural areas, you ascend to the meadows of Lavenna, enjoying the panoramic view of the Dolomites among the green grass and grazing cows. If luck is on your side and you pass here during flowering, the spectacle becomes even more fascinating.

On the return to San Genesio, take advantage of the force of gravity as you descend through endless meadows and fascinating woods. At the end of your adventure, you can easily take a bus back to Bolzano.
