This route was planned by komoot.
Better starting point if you arrive by car is the cemetary municipal: free parking spot with good space. The ascend to the Mirador from Agulo is very steep and requires a good fitness level and good shoes.
A beautiful but also challenging tour. The ascent requires a lot of fitness, the descent requires a lot of strength. In any case, you should only go in sturdy hiking boots. If it's wet, the descent is no picnic. The effort is rewarded with great views and varied landscapes.
The first section is not recommended for people who are afraid of heights.
A fantastic hike, breathtaking views of Mount Teide and the cliffs of Tenerife, stunning rock formations, and a challenging descent to Agulo. The ascent of our circular route was more relaxed, although it involved a significant amount of elevation gain. Every step was worth it!
... sometimes quite steep ascent. But spectacular views. At the Skywalk / Abrante, a little more thrill 🙈.
A nice round with a very steep ascent and equally steep descent. But once you've reached the top, you can walk a nice round in a relaxed manner over asphalt and forest hiking trails.
A second attempt to reach Alto de Garanojay was again unsuccessful due to heavy fog. Instead, we took a leisurely hike from the information center to the Mirador de Abrante. We initially walked through an inconspicuous valley, which, interestingly, still had some cultivation. From the Mirador, there are spectacular views down the valley to Agulo. And the return journey via the "red trail" is particularly special, with its stunning colors. The day was rounded off with a swim in the sea.
