Paramount Ranch Western Town

Highlight • Historical Site

Unfortunately in November 2018, the Woolsey Fire destroyed much of what was known as Western Town, a real-life Hollywood-adjacent motion picture set. The train depot used in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman series and the chapel used in HBO's "Westworld" remains.  The site is currently being reimagined to remake the only location in the National Park Service dedicated to the ongoing creation of movies and television shows.
Cross the bridge to get to the chapel used in HBO's "Westworld," It will be on your left. The only other building that still stands on the former Hertz Era Western Town site is the train depot that was used in the T.V. show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. All trailheads extend from this area, except the trail that goes toward Mulholland highway. nps.gov/samo/planyourvisit/paramountranch.htm

One of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains, 588-acre King Gillette Ranch offers a rare unspoiled view of California's rich archaeological, cultural, and historic resources, including a Chumash settlement, and nationally significant structures designed for razor magnate King C. Gillette in the 1920's by Wallace Neff, architect of California's Golden Age. mrca.ca.gov/parks/park-listing/king-gillette-ranch

Mulholland Highway

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Mulholland Drive is a 55-mile long winding road and scenic drive that connects the Hollywood Hills to Leo Carrillo State Beach in Malibu. Along the way, more precisely at Calabasas, Mulholland Drive becomes Mulholland Highway. It now twists and turns through the rugged Santa Monica Mountains, skirting canyons and cutting across ridgetops as it gradually descends to the Pacific Ocean.
