Odeceixe Windmill and Village

Odeceixe is a small town known for its narrow, winding streets dotted with whitewashed houses and red tiled roofs. The moinho de Odeceixe which stands at the top of the village is one of the icons of its architecture.

At the foot of Odeceixe flows the Seixe around which crops abound. Far from the arid cultures of the heart of the land, this green setting looks like a little piece of paradise.

The Rota Vicentina is a hiking area on the Portuguese coast and is part of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina National Park. In addition to the Fischerweg and the Historischer Weg, there are 24 well-signposted circular routes. A total of 740 km of hiking trails. We hiked parts in four days. Plenty of sandy stretches alongside the hills make hiking challenging. The views from the cliffs and from the hills are breathtaking.
