This six-kilometer hike takes you through the Maria Ellend-Haslau- Regelsbrunn National Park area. You hike from Haslau to Regelsbrunn, almost always with a view of the Danube, where there are several islands that create an exciting living space between the Danube and the town.
It starts at the parking lot on the main street in Haslau - but you can also use the train to get there. Because conveniently there is a train station in both Haslau and Regelsbrunn. Via the Haslauer Traverse you will reach the Danube in a very short time. Follow the staircase downstream. Remember here that the gravel beaches are not allowed to be entered in order to provide undisturbed breeding areas for gravel-nesting birds such as the sandpiper and the little ringed plover.
After about two kilometers you will pass stream kilometer 1,900, measured from the mouth of the Danube near Sulina, Romania. From there you continue hiking along an old poplar plantation. At the height of Regelsbrunn you cross the branch again and reach the village.
