Less demanding than the Frasse slope, this route offers a gentler and quieter alternative to reach the Plan Bois pass. It includes sumptuous landscapes on the beautiful slopes of the Sulens mountain.
This vast loop starts from the center of Thônes. Its pretty little streets and numerous shops are ideal for starting or finishing the route. A first portion gradually climbs up the northern slope of the Fier. Ideal for getting in shape, it offers beautiful views of the valley.
You then cross the village of Manigod which has preserved its typically Haute-Savoyard charm. Then, after crossing the Fier, you set off to climb the Plan Bois pass. Along the way, the Nant Barlottier waterfall provides a pleasant moment of freshness.
The last kilometers before the pass take place on open terrain which offers remarkable views. At the Plan Bois pass, you are at the highest point of the outing at 1,285 meters above sea level. A nice, quick and easy descent joins the banks of the Fier, before returning to the starting point in the center of Thônes.
