Hiking
This hike lets you discover a haven of peace nestled in lush greenery: Lake Charpal.
This artificial lake, originally intended for military purposes (even if this project never came to fruition), is today a source of valuable drinking water for the town of Mende. It is lined with marked trails which offer many possibilities for getaways. It is the largest “no-kill” lake in France, ideal for pike and perch fishing.
During the hike, you benefit from a myriad of views of the lake. Around the body of water, you will find several picnic tables and rest areas to relax and eat a snack. You walk sometimes on dirt paths, sometimes on wooden footbridges which allow you to get closer to the natural environment.
After a few hours of walking along the Charpal lake, you are back at the starting point.
