Nice tour with illustrated stations that describe the history of the Bartholomä pilgrimage. Memories are awakened ... We were there thirty years ago.
I found a wonderful hike in the Komoot Fundus. Themed hike "In the footsteps of the pilgrims". It starts in the middle of the town of Maria Alm. The destination is St. Bartholomä, of course not for us, but only for the pilgrims. As early as the 17th century, people walked 32 km and conquered 1,500 meters in altitude. For us it is only 9 km, a very pleasant tour. 5 panels show us the history of this pilgrimage, with many pictures from then and now. During the entire hike we have a fantastic panoramic view of the Hochkönig. I recommend this hike with all my heart 💓 😊

Info: After the winter hiking trail from Maria Alm up to Kronreith, we walked a summer hiking trail. This is not always possible in winter. However, the normal winter trail runs to the right of it.
From Maria Alm Hochkönig, when the weather is 25 degrees, you can start on the themed trail "Auf den Spuen der Pillager". This is very well signposted. Rest at the Gasthof Krohnreitz, continue through dense fern forests and green meadows. Snakes cross paths - no kidding, I saw one and it wasn't too small🐍〰️Wolves 🐺 have also been sighted here. Finally a wheat beer 🍻 at the Almhütte Dorfstadl. Sturdy shoes 🥾 are a must for hikers.
