Your tour starts near the train station in Zell am See. From here, you go around the entire lake. The circuit is almost entirely along a cycle path. At special highlights, it is worth getting off your bike and enjoying the lake to the fullest.
The Thumersbach lido is one of three lidos on Lake Zell. Here you can enjoy direct access to the lake, a heated swimming pool and numerous outdoor activities. What is special about Thumersbach? Located on the eastern shore, the sun shines for you the longest.
If you prefer to enjoy nature and the rich diversity of Lake Zell, then let yourself be enchanted by the protected part of the lake. Here you can admire various meadow birds and butterflies.
If your water reserves have run out, you will find a fountain with fresh spring water on the way back. Now it is not far and you will be back in the center of Zell am See.

Hello everyone, After a very extensive shopping tour in Zell am See, we decided to go for a walk around the lake, as a kind of relaxation on this hot and super sunny day and to end it. The last auction of the day was a light rain jacket, a pleasure purchase and a bargain. Anyway, you can guess 3x what happened exactly at the moment when we took the bikes off the rack in the late afternoon and wanted to start our little tour - right: rain... So the new jackets on and off we went, a good 1 hour in the drizzle around the lake. Not exactly a challenge, but very nice because the lake is accessible almost all around and you have a constant view of it - at least if you have a clear view without fog and without spray... Conclusion: the jackets were tight. See you out there soon! 😎 Madze ****
The tour comes from the hotel flyer of the Grand Hotel Zell am See. It is a very easy route that leads around the lake quite flat and at just under 13 km is not particularly long. After the nature reserve (after Schüttdorf) you sometimes come to normal stretches of road. Cycling is sometimes not allowed in Zell am See. At 9.0 km there are several options to make you cozy with a picnic blanket on public green spaces right on the lake. You can also go straight into the water there. There is a public toilet, but it still costs money. (e.g. Zell am See near the "Musikmuschel" or the boat rental.)
Today we did a little lap around the lake in Zell. The weather wasn't exactly the best, but as the saying goes: “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”! In itself, me a cozy short round. On the one hand, unfortunately, you only drive on the road until the bike path turns again and you come to the bike path in the nature area. There are always benches on which you can stop and enjoy the view. Most of the cycle path runs alongside the pedestrian path. In Zell itself, the bike path turns over railroad tracks, but you can also get off your bike and push it along the footpath, the view here is more beautiful than through the city in car traffic. The loop is easy to walk and great for families.
Zell am See should be left out, but it's not possible. So close your eyes and through... the rest is beautiful at this time of the year from a panoramic point of view.... and pretty much empty. There is nothing there in terms of claim.... you could also walk... but you don't want to 😜
As usual ..... nüscht Dollet, pure nature and those who are not looking for the best time around the lake will be bored. But if you like optics and enjoyment, time and inclination for it .... Tutto bene
We didn't feel like skiing today, the foehn storm was blowing up there. So I took a leisurely walk around Lake Zell with lots of photo stops. There was almost no wind in the valley.
Zeller See is smaller than I thought. 30-40 minutes of brisk driving, or 1 hour sightseeing and that's it. Mostly very nice bike path with a view of the lake. About 2/3rds to 3/4ths. The rest is also a cycle path, but next to the main road and without a special view. Luckily there were almost no cars in the evening, so I had my peace and quiet.
Short rain circuit around Lake Zell. It doesn't want to stop 🌧🌧🙄
